Dallen Paul Hardwick

Born January 23, 1932 in Monticello, KY, he was the son of the late Roy L. and Zona E. (Thompson) Hardwick. He was a farmer and retired employee of the Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown. He had been a life resident of Washington County.

On July 5, 1969 he married Virginia (Collier) Hardwick who passed away September 9, 1997.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and even built and raced stock cars in his early years. He enjoyed being outdoors, taking long drives through the country, watching the hummingbirds in his back yard, fishing and farming. He loved talking to people, he never met a stranger, if he saw a farmer working in the fields on one of his drives, he’d stop and chat with them. He entertained his kids with adventures and stories from his youth. He also liked to play tricks on his kids. He truly loved life. He liked western shows, Donald Trump, old country and gospel music, and “The Five”.
He was a man of many talents, he could build and fix anything from houses to cars. He loved family and family get-togethers. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include: 3 sons: Mike, Larry and Steve Hardwick.
3 Daughters: Sandra (Richard) Sisk, Pam Monroe, and Lisa Meredith.
7 Grandchildren: Brittany Monroe, Zona (Chris) Collins, Shelby (Ryan) Peters, Zara Meredith, Jeremy (Betty) Hardwick, Cole (Katie) Sisk, Tara (Max Nutter) Sisk.
10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother John Hershel Hardwick, 2 sisters Eva Mae Hardwick and Ella Vaught and 1 grandson, Paul Brewster.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Dr. Michael Bonacum officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday and 9 to 11 am Wednesday.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery .
